WHY JOIN

Beyond the many social benefits of joining, members are kept informed about both the past and future of our neighborhood through our many communications via e-mail, Facebook, and three annual newsletters.

For example, a recent newsletter featured a detailed history of the Kundtz Castle, a glorious mansion that stood in our neighborhood from 1902-1961. Other newsletters have featured reports from our Long-Range Planning committee and news about potential developments in and near the neighborhood.

Another example of the O.P.N.A.’s value appeared in 2018 when we achieved the goal of replacing our neighborhood street signs with more attractive, uniform signs that beautify the neighborhood. Thanks to the time, effort, and resources of many association members, our neighborhood’s appearance and value have been enhanced significantly.

O.P.N.A. 2024 "Evening with the Mayor" Event

The Overlook Park Neighborhood Association was pleased to host its 5th annual “Evening with the Mayor” event in February, 2024, at the Cove Community Center in Lakewood. The event enabled neighbors to submit questions for Mayor Meghan George. We thank the city government officials for their time and for providing an overview of the event. The attached pdf includes information about the city of Lakewood's parks and recreation initiatives, Climate Action Plan, public safety programs, and water/sewer infrastructure updates, including the Interceptor Tunnel Rehabilitation Project.
